What our tours are like
Purposes of a think walk:
→ To share excitement and exploration of the world around you.
→ To connect what you see in San Francisco with how it came to be there—and we don't shy from the important question of 'Why?'.
→ To give a feel for how SF ticks—from the hippies to the street people to the halls of power.
→ To encourage your curiosity with spontaneous exploration and doing things you've never done.
→ To inspire a laugh and a smile and some serious thought about how life could be different than what you've experienced.
On bike tours:
• We help you find a bike if you don't have one.
• We ride slowly and socially.
• We avoid traffic.
• We stop to discuss or answer quesions.
• Plus the same idealistic stuff as the Thinkwalks, above.
On walking tours:
• We use maps, satellite photos, old pictures, and other references.
• We stop in on locals.
• We adjust the tour route according to the interests of the group.
In addition, on all-day tours:
• We leap at spontaneous opportunities to explore.
• We hop on streetcars or buses sometimes.
• We dine in a cluster of very tasty yet super-cheap eating establishments.
• We stop for various activities such as trying the swirly slides, decorating a street tree, browsing peculiar stores, or conducting a survey.
